Senior Accountant
Onsite: On location at the Client’s site 100% of the time. No telecommuting or remote work.
Additional Information: Full Benefits, Bonus Available.
Description: Our Client is looking for a Senior Accountant for their new opening in the finance field.
Responsibilities:
• Manage fuel costs through use of standard procedures and analysis;
• Work with fuel vendors to obtain invoices/information timely;
• Create journal entries related to fuel for month-end close;
• Reconcile and analyze total fuel costs each month;
• Administer company purchasing card program;
• Work with purchasing card sponsor to improve processes and information received from third party vendors;
• Manipulation of large amounts of data from purchasing card database for analysis and month-end close;
• Create journal entries for company purchasing card transaction for month-end close;
• Monitor / create journal entries for FBO fuel inventory and sales;
• Administer automated expense reporting software (ADP product);
• Supervision of two non-professional employees who manage expense reporting process;
• Post customer payments to account;
• Upkeep of various spreadsheets for revenue recognition;
• Balance sheet reconciliations;
• Bank reconciliations;
• Support Operations/other departments through ad hoc analysis projects;
• Integral in the month-end close process;
• Support role for quarterly / annual financial reporting process;
• Support role in quarterly review / annual audit process;
Requirements:
• A minimum of 3-4 years of accounting experience (preferably at least two years as a senior accountant);
• Excel super-user, ability to manipulate large amounts of data into usable formats;
• Ability to interact with vendors in an effective and professional manner;
• Ability to effect change through use of technology and improvement of processes;
• An analytical thinker that isn’t afraid to question current procedures / processes and suggest improvements;
• Must be a team player that wants to work for a young company with a lot of room for improvement;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Well organized and detail oriented;
• Experience using Dynamics is a plus;
• Experience using Access is a plus;
• Experience in dealing with fuel costs is a plus;
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
