Platform Leader / Application Development
Est. Duration of 1st stage: 3 – 6 months.
Onsite: On location at the Client’s site 100% of the time. No telecommuting or remote work.
Additional Information: Health Care and Benefits Available.
Description: Our Client, global leader in measurement and information, is looking for Platform Leader / Application Development.
Responsibilities:
• Collaboration with Architecture, Definition, Project Management Office (PMO) teams for developing the short and long term strategy for the platform;
• Technical Leadership around architecture and long term technical strategy;
• Lead a team of Project Managers;
• HR responsibilities for the company within the platform (objectives, reviews, career development, etc.);
• Maintain and enforce common conventions, standards, and technologies across the platform;
• Translate business goals into appropriate strategies and technical requirements;
• Effective cooperation with key leaders from other teams;
• Assist in the definition and management of standards, guidelines and processes for related data, systems and application development;
• Mentoring other team members on the application of new development methodologies.
Requirements:
• 10+ years of IT development experience (5 years in a leadership role);
• Experience in managing large development teams (30+ resources) working in onsite/offshore setup;
• Experience with Web Development Technologies (Java/J2EE and/or Flex);
• Experience with Data Warehousing (ETL and/or DB Programming);
• Experience with OOM, MVC Frameworks, Design Patterns and other architectural concepts;
• Prior experience in leading long term platform development comprising multiple applications (preferred);
• 3 years or more in a development role on client facing applications (preferred);
• 5 years or more in a technical leadership role working on complex projects (preferred);
• Bachelor's degree or higher; relevant industry certifications (preferred);
• US citizens and Permanent Residents only.
