Operations Engineer
Onsite: On location at the Client’s site with occasional travels.

Description: Our Client is a large wireless telecommunications development company.
Responsibilities:
• Design and implement new server and network infrastructure;
• Develop software tools to solve systems, operations, and engineering problems;
• Work with local and remote software engineering teams to help identify and remediate production issues;
• Pro-actively monitor systems and applications for high profile web properties;
• Execute systems maintenance within constraints of published SLAs;
• Share 24x7 on-call duties.
Requirements:
• Experience in production environments with at least 200+ systems (10-15 years);
• Experience with UNIX, Linux administration / networking / deployment;
• Experience with Blackbox debugging of complex software systems;
• Experience with Software development (Perl, PHP, Python, etc.);
• Experience with Source control systems (CVS, SVN);
• Knowledge of SQL database development and administration (MySQL preferred);
• Advanced knowledge of Apache / Tomcat and other web container administration;
• Experience with Firewall administration / Security OPSEC;
• A proven record of working within a fast-past, high-availability environment for an Internet based consumer service;
• Bachelor's degree required;
