HR Generalist

Est. duration of the 1st stage: 6 months.

Onsite: On location at the Client’s site 100% of the time. No telecommuting or remote work.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for professional level work in one or more of the following functions, such as recruiting, staffing, employee relations, employment, labor relations, safety, affirmative action, benefit liaison functions, and legal compliance;
• Responsible for administration of human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel, assistance in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures;
• Responsible for partnership with employees and management to communicate various HR policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations; makes recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues using judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law;
• Responsible for filing EEO-1 and OSHA reports annually, maintaining other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations;
• Responsible for the compliance of federal and state regulations concerning employment, benefits administration for workers comp, STD/LTD, FMLA & Professional development;
• Responsible for the recruitment process, policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Experience with specialized knowledge of HR principles and procedures, federal and state employment regulations plus considerable administrative or creative knowledge of other functions or operations in order to develop new approaches to issues or problems;
• Strong working knowledge of company procedures and policies;
• HR generalist experience (5-7 years);
• Experience with EEO laws and general human resources concepts;
• Experience through multiple business cycles in various assignments (2-5 years);
• Experience in organizing and planning tasks, and selecting proper methods where established methods provide only general guidance;
• Experience in making decisions involving modifying or adapting existing methods to unique situations;
• Experience with HRIS system maintenance;
• Experience with Microsoft Office;
• Experience with PHR/SPHR (preferred);
• Working knowledge of unions (preferred);
• Experience in Time Management Skills and multi-tasking (preferred);
• U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents only.
