XML / XSLT Developer
Onsite: On location at the Client’s site 100% of the time. No telecommuting or remote work.
Description: Our Client, a scientific nonprofit organization, is looking to hire an XML / XSLT Developer.
Responsibilities:
• Design, create, implement and modify XML transform applications;
• Track, troubleshoot and repair application problems;
• Provide training for staff on developed applications and processes as required;
• Provide periodic activity reports;
• Provide backup support to Publishing Specialists in the following areas: process content for print and electronic products using documented procedures; maintains log for production of galley and pagination output; creates and modifies MS-DOS batch files for production of print and electronic products;
• Comply with all established procedures when completing assignments;
• Complete assignments according to scheduled priorities;
• Verify the accuracy and integrity of completed work;
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and debug files, referring the most problematic to the next level of responsibility;
• Version tests/production software as required in company-approved repositories such as CVS or Source Safe;
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• 2+ years of relevant experience;
• Experience with XML, DTDs, and XSLT;
• Experience with HTML and CSS;
• Knowledge of File Transfer Protocol (FTP);
• Familiar with either DOS / Linux / UNIX;
• Experience with OmniMark (preferred);
• Basic knowledge of Java / JSP (preferred);
• Experience with publishing industry, batch publishing, XML authoring, and page composition software;
• Excellent communication skills required: verbal, written and interpersonal. Effective problem-solving and critical-thinking skills a must;
• Bachelors Degree in a related field preferred;
• U.S. citizens and Permanent Residents only.
